Several of our best clients including Frank Ching of San Jose, Erik Giesa of Seattle and Gloria Melone of San Francisco have bought carefully-crafted but reasonably priced holidays for their entire families.
Frank Ching, in fact, has done it many times. A successful businessman with a very large extended family, Frank decided there could be no better gift than “the gift of travel”. Several years ago he let us convince him that a trip from Venice north through Slovenia (the former playground of the Habsburg Kingdom) to Austria would constitute the perfect family trip.
Frank chose this particular itinerary because he knew his family would get both culture (the arts and music of both Venice and Vienna) and adventure – we rode the “Lipizzaner” horses of the Hapsburgs at a stud farm in Slovenia, witnessed a medieval sword fight at Lake Bled and explored the castles that pop out of Karst formations in the foothills of the breathtaking Julien alps.
Frank was so impressed by his first M&G family holiday that he asked us to set up more holidays including one from northern Italy and southern France to bustling Barcelona in Spain. It was such a joy watching Frank’s younger relatives frolick on a boat across Lake Como, revel in the mysteries and grandeur of Carcassonne (France) and stand in silent awe at the Gaudi’s Sagrada La Familia in Barcelona.
The last trip with yet another wing of Frank’s family started in Rome, continued to Umbria and then went down South to the glamorous Amalfi Coast, lesser known but equally brilliant Basilicata and the tremendous “Trulli” of Alberobello. Please click here to see their video of the trip!
