Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Seattle
You will be greeted at the airport upon arrival and transferred to your centrally located hotel in the Emerald City. If time permits, you can join your tour guide for a walking tour of Pike Place Market and sample Yakima fine wine in a "Post Alley" wine bar. Later, you will enjoy a lavish seafood feast at a local eatery with your guide and co-travelers. Overnight in downtown Seattle

Day 2: Seattle to Mount Saint Helens
Experience the resplendent recovery of a great disaster with a visit to the Johnston Ridge Observatory on the edge of Mount Saint Helens. Overnight in Kelso

Day 3: Kelso to the Columbia River Gorge
Travel by pristine lakes and amazing forests along the lesser-travelled but amazingly beautiful Wind River Highway to the Columbia River Gorge. Overnight in the Columbia Gorge

Day 4: Columbia Gorge, Portland and the Willamette Valley
Today we will see more of the Columbia River Gorge on our way to the Rose City of Portland where we will tour the city, enjoy another micro brewery and visit the unforgettable Rose Gardens. Overnight in McMinnville

Day 5: Willamette Valley food and wine day
We will visit two fantastic Willamette Valley wineries to pair locally produced cheese, meats and fruits with award-winning wines. How does a goat-cheese, hazelnut and honey bruschetta paired with a refreshing glass of Viognier white wine sound? Overnight in McMinnville

Day 6: McMinnville to Grants Pass
We will stop off for coffee at the University of Oregon before we continue back into the Cascades for a picnic and optional walk at beautiful Crater Lake. We will continue south towards Grants Pass and the wild Rogue River wilderness in the afternoon. Overnight in Grants Pass

Day 7: Grants Pass
Take an exciting jet boat excursion down the pristine Rogue River and visit historic Jacksonville in the afternoon, one of the oldest cities in the west. Overnight at Grants Pass

Day 8: Grants Pass to Eureka
Today we will travel from Central Oregon to the California coast making a few meaningful and delicious stops en route. Overnight in Eureka

Day 9: Eureka to Santa Rosa
Today will visit more Redwoods on our way to a lovely late lunch stop in Mendocino. After time to shop and browse in eclectic Mendocino, we will make our way to California wine country. Overnight in Santa Rosa

Day 10: Sonoma and Napa
We will tour the greatest wine producing region in North America today and we will make many stops including the castle of our wine-making friend, Dario Sattui. Overnight in Santa Rosa

Day 11: Sausalito and ferry to San Francisco
Enjoy a beautiful drive from Sonoma over the Golden Gate Bridge into the spectacular city of San Francisco. We will stop en route for a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, enjoy historic Sausalito and then board one of the world's most scenic ferries from Sausalito to San Francisco. After a light lunch we will take an afternoon boat to Alcatraz where we will enjoy one of the best guided tours on the planet. We will then finish at our hotel and rest up before we walk to a local restaurant for a lovely farewell meal. Overnight in San Francisco

Day 12: Fly out or enjoy a two-night extension in San Francisco
