Walking Adventures
There is nothing our co-founder Rick loves to do more than lead inquisitive, active travelers on what he calls “deep-culture countryside walks.” Rick started his career in tourism as a trail leader in the beautiful Canadian Rockies back in 1987. Walking through beautiful landscapes quickly became an obsession. He raised the ante when he led the first organized group over the heavily fortified border between Vietnam and China in 1992. More recently, he co-lead a horseback riding journey over Andean Patagonia with M&G co-founder Alessandra.
Most of our walking trips involve three hours of moderate hiking per day and we make a point of being very comfortable at night. We always focus on local culture – food, art and, of course, fascinating local personalities.
We created our most popular walking trip – Hiking the Franciscan Trail – for the Sierra Club five years ago and it has become an annual event. We’re setting up other Sierra Club hikes in other interesting places including Sicily and Sardinia/Corsica. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can walk with us in far-flung places such as Chilean Patagonia and Eastern Tibet.
Nobody does tourism like M&G! Please take a look at these exciting journeys and book a few spaces without obligation because we always limit the size of our trips (our target is 15 but we NEVER accept more than 20!).
